SkyWatch Friday: Mostly Gray

We've had almost all gray skies with the exception of Sunday when there was blue in with the clouds.

The shot above was one I took at the fair grounds Sunday and below was one I took on the road while Bill was driving.

The fair won't be there until October but we were there for the Greek Festival.

The shot above was one I took on Saturday at the NCMA museum park of the Wind Machine. The shot below was also Saturday at the NCMA and the large structure is called the Gyre.

The rest of the shots were taken Sunday at the museum park which is near the fair grounds so Bill and I walked there before the Greek Festival.

I like the way the Gyre looks different depending on the light and where you stand. On sunny days it also can cast interesting shadows.

It was so nice to have one day with blue mixing in with the clouds.

We've had so much rain that I'm getting tired of day after day of gray.

When we are in a drought, I love rainy days but that's not an issue at the moment since we've had so much rain.

The sky Sunday is my favorite kind with a mix of blue and huge puffy clouds.

Love the silhouette of the Gyre. You've had a lot of blue compared to us.

It's pretty grey here too, so the blue sky is a welcome sight. Thank you,

I love the variety of skies here! Gray gets tiresome (we know that well from living all those years in the PNW) but it does make the blue even more beautiful when it appears!

Oh, I love the silhouette of the Gyre, too! And what terrific captures! Love your blue skies and all those puffy white clouds! We're mostly back to gray here in the northwest -- but at least it isn't raining that much and very pleasant temps! Happy SWF, Carver! Have a great weekend!

The Gyre is fascinating, from many angles. And I really like the reflection in the building (as in your thumbnail photo).
I think it's our turn for rain.

Beautiful shots, Carver. Love the summery look of the sky, and think the Gyre is most interesting.

Lots of thick clouds! The blue skies blend well. The skies cleared up after the rain. And we have rain in the forecast in the morning!

I enjoyed your photos!

I love those three shots of The Gyre! It is so interesting! And I see what you mean about how different the sculpture appears, depending on your point of view!!
