The Weekend in Black and White: Ice

Below is a photograph I took of some ice I dumped out of my birdbath. I considered trying to pull the leaf out before photographing it but it was a fairly thin ice slice and I was afraid that it would break.

The leaf looks good in it! Odd how the ice gets so textured.

The leaf is what creates mystery. It wouldn't be as good without it.

I am SO glad you did not pull out the leaf....I think you would have destroyed this perfect image. It is heavenly. The black and white is the prefect medium. Such a spectacular capture. Kudos to you. genie

The ice has an almost organic look, and I feel the leaf enhances that. Lovely photo.
