The birds are singing louder and louder.
There are still mornings when I have to get ice out of the bird baths when they freeze overnight.
But there's no stopping spring.
More and more American Robins are making their presence known.
They are starting to forage on the ground.
The male cardinal below was hanging out with the robins.
I've even spotted a few azalea buds but hopefully most of them will be slower about getting to this phase. These varieties of azaleas set their tiny buds in the fall but they are usually barely visible until much later in spring. Sometimes this bush blooms in mid to late April but most of my azaleas don't bloom until May.
The forsythia blooms is a welcome sign of spring.
Periwinkle blossoms are one of the early spring flowers that don't mind some frost, unlike azaleas which do better when they bloom after the last frost which is usually mid to late April here.

The last photo is my favorite in this series. I like how the soft color emerges through the foliage like a tiny star. I saw similar beginnings in my world. Even though your temperatures have been icy cold your buds seem on par with the warmer western regions.
I cannot wait to see the azalea blooms. It's been really good hear weather wise. It's all been in the 70s and so spring like too.
It is going to be colorful soon and I am excited.
Wonderful pictures

Carver, lovely spring colors and flowers. The sky shots are beautiful! Spring is late to arrive here, we had snow today. I am eagerly waiting for my flowers to bloom and warmer weather. Great post, have a happy week!
I'm looking forward to the forsythia blooming but no sign as yet.

A great series of photos. I especially like the delicate look of the branches against that very blue sky in the first photo.
