Nature Notes and Our World Tuesday: Second Week of April

We have had a fantastic April so far; not too hot, not too cold . . .

Next week looks like it will be pretty too.

Now that we're into pollen season I'm glad that in between the sunny days we are getting rain to wash away the yellow pollen coat.

I hope we don't have a late April freeze which happens some years but the later we get into April the less likely it is.

I don't mind cold weather in the spring but once the trees leaf out extreme drops in temperature do a lot of damage.

One year my pecan tree didn't do well after losing it's first crop of leaves to an extreme temperature drop.

I like the wisteria in the next shot climbing up the trees.

It is amazing how fast the trees leaf out once the process starts.

I like the shade of green on the new leaves.

My red azaleas are always 2 weeks to a month earlier than my white and pink azaleas.

Beautiful pictures as always

Love azaleas and all the lovely spring color. That pollen -- that's why we are staying later in Florida this year; it was so bad in Oregon when we got there in May last year; we want to wait for it to wash away (and for the grass crops to get harvested).

The last photo is wonderful and shows how pleasant life can be on some streets when front yards are large and nature thrives!

Hello Carver, I love all the beautiful blossoms. The pollen is doing a number on me, my eyes feel awful. The shot of the geese on the hill is great. Have a happy week ahead!

Oh I am happy that your weather is so good and hopefully there won't be a freeze. We risk one until near the end of May... I love the colors... Beautiful... Michelle

I love the assortment of colors in your neighborhood. Around here we have far too much pink. Have a nice sunny day. We are due for rain later this week, but April showers bring May flowers or so they say.

Hi Carver --

I'm glad you've had a fantastic April thus far. It's not been too bad over here in Hong Kong also -- in fact, this past week has been really beautiful weather-wise! :)
