One of the perks to working from my home office, most of the time, is that I have the option of lighting a fire on a winter's day to distract me (I mean make me comfortable) while I work.

The fire makes a wonderful focus in monochrome with all the other textures in contrast around it! Great photo!
Nice fireplace! Merry Christmas & have a great holiday :)
That is one of those shots that requires colour in the flames... but then I could not enjoy it like I do your header.
Happy New Year, Carver - thanks for long time support.
The "den" looks cozy with the fireplace!
God bless you!
Cezar
What a comfortable niche...love the textures. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays!
Oh how I'd love to sit before a roaring fire. Not many fireplaces to be had in Tel Aviv...
It's a beautiful shot that really captures the imagination.
A beautiful place to work, Carver! Happy Holidays to you and your family! :)
I like the feel of this image. I also like the feel of your tongue in cheek comment. Have a happy and prosperous new year.
Very inviting. And I'd probably be distracted ...er... comfortable with this setup too!
You have a gorgeous and large fire place and mantel, Carver. I feel sure that fire would distract me a lot of the time what with the poking and restocking.
Health and happiness for 2010.

Wow! What a fantastic place to work! I love it. My best wishes to you and the ones you love.
Looks warm and cozy and more than inviting on a cold winter day. The hot toddy to go with?
Charming in monochrome, soothing in person I have no doubt .. and it must smell good
Wonderful composition and lots of texture. The fire creates such contrast to the rest of the photo. It is definitely the focal point. Beautiful.
It looks warm and cosy. I understand it makes you distr..., I mean comfortable, while work!
What a great picture of a wonderfully comfortable scene.
My feet are so cold right now I just want to park myself in front of that fire and sit for hours. Very nice, comforting scene.
That's one item that is very rare in homes in Singapore. I can imagine how cozy it feels with it fired up during the cold winter :)
Let's head for 2010 in a warm fuzzy way!! :)
so warm and cozy sitting by your fireplace =)
