This week I thought I would show you some of the photographs I've taken of my world during the first seven days of March, 2010.
The robin above makes me think of spring. Although there are robins in my world year round, I always see a lot more of them out and about in the spring and summer.
The brown thrashers (bird above) become very noisy as we move towards spring. I suppose they are calling out for mates.
The cardinals (male above) also raise quite a ruckus this time of year in my world.
We had a very light snow on Wednesday but not enough to threaten many of the early flowers.
My neighbor's red and white camellia is starting to bloom. My white camellias usually bloom when my neighbor's do but this year the white buds are still very tight and show some winter damage.
Some of the trees are starting to bud and even a few are beginning to flower.
The hawk is frequently swooping above me looking for prey. At least I think that's a hawk below. He was pretty far away so hard to get a very good close-up.
Every day there are more signs of spring which I love to see. It's feels like my world is coming to life.
I particularly like the way I can look up or down or straight ahead and something new awaits my discovery of its presence.
I am not eager for summer's heat but a little spring warmth is welcome.

What a clever (and pretty) post ...
Amazingly beautiful shots.
The bird-shots are just lovely. The spring is Best - and that proves your beautiful photos!
There isn't much happening here for Spring quite yet, Carver. Thanks for letting me look and enjoy! :)
Oh, such a great post, Carver! Love all of your beautiful photos, the lovely colors and wonderful skies. Marvelous captures of the plants and birds. We are all sooooo ready for spring, aren't we? Have a lovely week!!

Just lovely ---you have seen way more of spring than I have I hope that doesn't mean were in trouble over here
You inspired me to get out and see what we have..I took some photos and will share later..I think that is a red-tailed hawk...but I am not good with hawks.. No robins here yet....
Ugh, I am SO jealous! You have a robin....first sign of spring around here is when you start seeing robins. None here yet. So glad your world is filling with vibrant spring colors!
your world is full of activities - good for bloggers like us.
have a great week.
Perfect signs of spring! Great photos, love the birds and that blue sky!
Beautiful views from your world as always! Love the birds, flowers and skies ... delightful signs of Spring! I enjoyed your monochrome photo too.
Hugs and blessings,
The range of subjects! Beautiful shots all.
Carver: Very nice capture of Spring coming to your area. That is a Red Tailed Hawk for sure. It is easy to spot them with all the red in the tail.
Love the birds, wonderful sighting, Carver. The blooms are beautiful. So refreshing to see so many signs of spring!
That's what I did yesterday, bird watching.
Your photos show it was a marvelous week! My favorite is the cloud that looks like a feather!
Enjoy your week!
Ah bless the birds. It's wonderful that spring has sprung for you. What a gorgeous sky. I love every shot!
Such a wonderful time of year with birds in mating plumage, swelling buds about to burst and the first flowers of spring.
Oh, so beautiful to see the first signs of Spring through your lens.
I miss that season especially :)
You got such lovely birdies there :D!
Look at the little birds so busy with their spring cleaning and all the little flowers bursting.
Yay, spring. Lovely photos.
All shots are beautiful
and the last is really spring :-)
Lovely sequence of images. Thank you for sharing your lovely spring with us!
Fishing Guy is right about the hawk, too. Good call.
