Last week I went to Durham, NC (U.S.) for a staff meeting and was surprised to see a new pedestrian bridge across Highway 147 at Alston Avenue.
When I headed home, I was ready to try for a few more shots of the bridge approaching it from the other direction.
Since the pedestrian bridge isn't opened yet, if you look at the shot above the people walking across the road bridge on the left hand side are sharing that with cars. When the pedestrian bridge which you can see on the other side of the road bridge is finished, that will be a better way to cross the highway.
The shot below is one I took after the staff meeting, when I went into the park which is below the parking lot.
The next shot is taken from the parking lot facing the building I had left after the meeting.
The next shot is also taken from the parking lot but I turned my camera a little towards the left.
The last shot taken from the parking lot is facing in a whole other direction to get the expansive sky into the shot.

A lovely series of photos. Those pedestrian bridges are popping up a lot, especially across the busiest roads. Enjoyed this very much, thanks for sharing your part of the world.
Great that they do something positive for the pedestrians in your part of the world!
I see spring has arrived with lovely Easter flowers :)
Drive by photography. Gotta love it. You never know exactly what you're gonna get.
The only times I've been down 147 recently have been at night, so I hadn't even seen this. But I know exactly where it is. Can't believe I missed it!
Beautiful shots. The pedestrian bridges will definitely help.
Interesting!
Very thoughtful for pedestrians.
I just found out that my friend went back to raleigh. I am hoping that I could see that side of the country some day too.
nice set of photo's... love the cloud formation in the last one

Excellent post, Great photos!!!
Sometimes it seems there is a tiny resemblance of a portion of one shot with a scenery in another location oceans away; like on the 6th photo. The buildings though are definitely west. And the flowers - oh spring has sprung indeed!
Great to have a pedestrian bridge!! And your photos are terrific as always, Carver!! And as always, I love the dark, bare trees silhouetted against those gorgeous blue skies and clouds!! Perfect! Hope you have a great week!

In Thailand, there isn't always a bridge available. And cars are far more important than peoples lives.
The beautiful blue sky makes a great background.
Interesting post. Very nice shots and would you believe I am so glad to finally see some daffodils blooming?
These are lovely. Those bridges are so helpful.
That last sky shot is wonderful. I feel myself caught up in those clouds.
We have many of those in Portland, Oregon..glad they have made that one for the peds safety!
Looks like spring has started to sprung there too!!

Beautiful flowers and sky - I think you're a little farther into spring that we are. And I know I'd be looking forward to the bridge opening if I were a pedestrian down there!
this is a wonderful photo trip. i love the last one with the casted sky. :)
Nice shots on the move! Thanks for sharing the pictures from you area!

A great series of photos. The pedestrian bridges are needed. Love the sky in your last photo!
That is a pretty part of the world you live in - must be nice. Glad to see they're doing something for pedestrians.
A staff meeting and great shots indeed.

Love to see the old pedestrian bridges making a comeback - we had so many of them in Mass years ago!
Nice to see your roads :)))
Fantastic shots all special the spring flowers !!!
Greetings from Manila!
