Cemeteries are a place where remains are interred.
I find it especially sad to see markers for children who died young.
This cemetery has interments from the American Revolutionary war period up through the present.

Oh, how brief life seems to be at times! Such visits are both historically interesting and great reminders to appreciate our precious moments on earth.
I don't have words to say that I am touched by this post.

Ruby
Cemeteries are interesting to walk through, especially when they are well maintained.
You know I love cemeteries and this one sounds cool. It is sad seeing the stones of those who died so young...and that weeping willow is magnificent. These trees belong in cemeteries and graveyards, for the image and illusion of weeping. Have a great week.
Thoughtful and respectful post.

They can be such peaceful and beautiful places, can't they?
I am always fascinated with graveyards and cemeteries.
Its such a beautiful and iconic was to celebrate life and death.
Oh, cemeteries are FASCINATING because of the history. I used to cut thru the local cemetery as a kid to get to the ball field. We also used to sled there (watch out for the tombstones); couldn't/wouldn't do it today.

When we lived in the East, I used to wander through the cemeteries there and read the tombstones. The histories are fascinating. You don't find cemeteries here so much, as most people are cremated now. Great photos,

So much history and poignancy in graveyards.
I love visiting old cemeteries. You got some beautiful photos at this one. The child's grave is very poignant. I want to be composted too!
Yes, cemetery of young kids makes us very sad.
I do a considerable research for our family's geneology so cemeteries are a place I find facinating. This one is so pretty, great take on the letter I.

Seeing graves of small children is so sad. Graveyards have a special feel to them; a place of quiet, rest and of sadness.
I love old cemeteries ...they are often sad but so interesting!
Oddly, cemeteries are actually great places to go to contemplate life. And to learn history.
Children's gravestones always make me cry.
I too, am fascinated with cemeteries and love to visit and photograph them. And, I too, am always saddened to see the age of the little ones when they passed. Great shots!
No cemeteries near us. That willow tree is gorgeous!
A good reminder of how important it is to live every minute we have.
I just love browsing cemeteries! There's so much to learn and be fascinated about. Your photos are beautiful like always. Love them!
Your like me I felt bad if I see young children's tomb stone. I also like going to cemeteries specially if it is old. ^_^

if i could have just one wish
Very neat cemetery.
Lovely photos; conveys a nice feeling for the serenity and peace of the place.
It's always emotional when visiting cemeteries for me...
Here's a weird one for you! We had an ice cream parlor in my hometown, Binghamton, NY (well, it was in nearby Endicott) located next to a graveyard. The custom was to get an ice cream cone, climb up the stone embankment, and wander through the cemetery, looking at names, sort of communing with the long-gone. I am not afraid of cemeteries, nor of dying... My dad called them "marble orchards"! Amy
