I fear this will be an extremely long post because the conditions were perfect for skywatching.
The shots I'm using are from three different days.
There was a chance of thunderstorms every day but none materialized.
Since it wasn't a long trip and from the look of the grasses, plants and trees there had been sufficient rain this summer, I was glad we didn't have rain although I also enjoy storms at the beach.
One good thing about a chance of rain is there was an abundance of beautiful clouds.
I think clouds are very beautiful to watch form and change.
Much of the time the ocean was a very vivid blue.
There was a great variety amongst the different clouds.
There were also a lot of birds to add variety to the sky.
Since I picked so many shots to use I fear I'll run out of things to say.
There were several small fishing boats just past the breaking waves.
I love watching sea oats waving against the sky.
The beach wasn't crowded which I always like.
I think the wispy cloud looks like a dancer with long legs.
I like the mix of darker and lighter clouds.
I guess I could skip words in between the photos but I like to break the shots up a little.
When I started my other blog, which was my first one, I used photographs as breathing spaces in between the words.
Now that both of my blogs are primarily photographs, I use the words as breathing spaces in between the photos.
The gull was flying with a kite.
At first I thought the kite made it harder to shoot the birds.
However, after my brother in law mentioned the kite could be an opportunity, I started trying to get shots of the birds flying with the kite.
I love to shoot sunsets at the beach.
Although the sun set on the other side of the cottage, on the sound side, the clouds gained some color at sunset.
I upload my photos to flickr and add the image address to the post as I compose it.
I keep thinking I must be nearing the end of the photos I uploaded for skywatch.
However, each time I click the button for the next shot another one I picked for skywatch comes up.
I think this must be the most shots I've ever put in a post.
It takes more time to pick fewer shots because I have to spend more time figuring out the ones I think are the best.
It's quicker to pick a whole big bunch of shots which seems counter intuitive.
The part that takes more time with a big bunch of shots is thinking of something to say in between.
Thank goodness, I finally made it to the last shot because I'm getting tongue tied, or is it finger tied.

Fine views, I like to admire the cloud and to do photographs for them. I am greeting
Wow. That is an amazing and spectacular series of sky and sea shots. Thanks for sharing
Quite a collection here. Each photograph outdoes the other.
The sky’s the limit with these shots, Carver, and I don’t know where to begin! The last one looks like a gapping mouth in the cloud and I like the seagull and kite … that is very rare … and the wispy dancing cloud. Suffice it to say you were on cloud nine during this holiday taking so many interesting sky views. :)
So many interesting clouds, the puffy ones, the wispy ones, the dancing ones and the bird and kite is really interesting. Looks like a beautiful place.
Wonderful series, now I want to go the the beach.

Very grand sequence!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Fabulous photos. I want to run and put my feet in the water.
Oh my, you really hit the jackpot on that visit to the beach - marvelous clouds and beautifully captured.
Oh, you did indeed hit the jackpot, Carver!! What a fantastic collection of beautiful skies and each one different! And, of course, I love the beach!! Thanks for sharing the fun and the beauty! So glad you had such a wonderful trip!!

Now that's a beautiful place to do skywatching and waterwatching! I love all of these. You did indeed hit the jackpot!
Thanks to everyone for visiting and to answer the question, yes we do swim there. When I took a lot of the shots though the undertow was pretty strong and there weren't as many people swimming. Also it's not crowded at the cottage part of the beach so it looks empty. Up towards the hotels it's more crowded.
What a lovely series of beach and cloud photos! You must have had a glorious week! I think my favourite shot is the one with the sea oats, although a couple of the sunset captures rival it!!
Never too many cloud pics for me! Beautiful and stunning, Carver:)
Thanks for sharing all of them. I'm enjoying the beach and different clouds in your shots. Awesome!
What could be better than that..
Soft combination of whites and blues, lovely captures.
Wow!Beautiful blue skies and cloud.
That last photo is my favorite of all... an incredible cloud formation with rain in the distance... such beauty!
Oh, I could live right there and gaze on these skies forever.
Fabulous shots!
Great series, Carver.
I love to see those fluffy white clouds above the sea and the wide landscapes.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend.
