ABC Wednesday: E is for evergreen

Evergreens excel in providing color in the winter.
ABC wedDSCN1995
Even though I like the green provided by evergreens I think they especially exude beauty when covered by or dusted with snow.
ABC WedDSCN2232
I encountered snow on evergreens at the end of January and the beginning of February this year.
abcwedDSCN1879
We are expecting snow and freezing rain this week so eventually I will probably have even more photographs of evergreens having winter encounters with the white stuff.
abcwedDSCN1914
I considered going through my archives because I've taken better evergreen shots with larger amounts of snow in past years but I decided to restrict myself to shots I took this year.

Warning, the last sentence will not make a lot of sense aside from providing extra E words.

Very pretty photos Carver. A dusting of snow does have its own beauty. We will be having the same kind of weather this week.

Evergreen in the winter is a happy sight to see for me, and such a great home for many critters!

Beautiful photos!

I agree that the snow dusting on the evergreens provides much beauty. I especially like the close-up of the pine cones of the tree and your shot of a creek. I worked for 25 minutes trying to remove ice from my windshield with no success. boo hiss

Whether the last sentence makes sense or not the pictures are beautiful...I wouldn't mind an occasional dusting of pretty snow, but the way so many places have been absolutely buried all winter would be horrible.

We have lots of evergreens here in BC and thankfully they tend to keep me dry in the rain when taking the dog for a walk along the trails. We don't get much snow here, but it is very pretty when dusting the evergreens!

Love the snow dollops on the Evergreens.

The splash of colour in the first photo is lovely. They do indeed look lovely covered in snow. There has been only interminable rain here this winter, well apart from today when there was a hail shower which is the nearest we've had to snow yet.

We've been experiencing encounters with freezing temps, freezing rain and snow all winter! I'd like to extricate myself from winter asap!

I live in a place with mountainsides covered with evergreens. The maples that follow canyons and streams lose there leaves, but the firs, pines, hemlocks and cedars just keep on giving us a beautiful views. - Margy

Loved your green and white pictures. That tiny bit of orange provided by the bird looks so wonderful. The winter must be hard on them.

I love your first pic. The little orange bird stands out well against the green and snow.
