I can't believe March is already half way done.
The photographs in this post begin with March 10 and go through March 16, 2014.
It's raining while I prepare this post early Sunday evening.
It's supposed to change over to freezing rain and possibly a little snow tonight.
Saturday was warm so I'm guessing any frozen precipitation won't amount to much because the ground was warm before the temperatures returned to cool and cold.
Monday is only supposed to get a degree or two above freezing.
I'm sure the plants and animals alike join me in hoping the frozen precipitation doesn't accumulate this time.
Everywhere I look there are new flowers and buds.
There is something so fresh and lovely to me about early light blossoms.
Yellow blooms are like sunlight on the ground to me.
Saturday was a perfect day for a walk.
It was also a great day for people to ride their bicycles.
Storms this winter brought down quite a few trees.
I don't know if the green spots on the underwater rocks are algae or moss.
I'm used to seeing moss on the rocks above the water but I'm not used to seeing any green underwater in this particular creek.
I'm guessing it's not algae because the green isn't floating on the surface which is what I think of algae as doing.
The thin trees almost look like they are side walls to me.
Looking up the bare trees are beginning to get a feathery look.
I associate that feathery look as being a harbinger of spring.
The pothole in the park parking lot almost always has a reflection for me.
Although I took the shot above on a sunny day, rain from prior days remained.
I'm not a big fan of summer heat but this year I'm ready for a stretch of warm days.
The male cardinal below was tilting his head side to side.

What a cute bird to finish off this series of shots. His tilted head gives him a curious look as if he is wondering about something … perhaps when lunch is being served. :)
