SkyWatch Friday: Late March

I can't believe that we are already nearing the end of March.

skywatchDSCN8785

I might as well say, I can't believe . . ., about the past couple of decades.

It is so strange the way time goes so much slower when you're young but speeds up into warp drive with age.

skywatchDSCN8836

I feel like every time a turn around a year has passed by.

skywatchDSCN8846

I realize that everyone may not experience time in the same way.

skywatchDSCN8875

For me, the first decade or so of my life went by very slowly.

skywatchDSCN8924

Time started accelerating gradually in my twenties and thirties.

skywatchDSCN9030

My 40s zipped along at a fast pace.

skywatchDSCN9057

Towards the end of this year I'll turn 57 and I feel like if I blink I'll be moving into the next decade.

skywatchDSCN9094

I suppose there are some advantages to time speeding up for me.

skywatchDSCN9218

If I have a bad year it will be over before I have time to get depressed.

skywatchDSCN9257

I'm over simplifying the time issue but I know when I was younger if I was having a bad day it would seem to go on forever.

skywatchDSCN9316

At this point in my life, nothing seems to last forever.

skywatchDSCN9325

Boy have I gone off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the sky.

skywatchDSCN9327

Then again sky watching is a good way to mark the passage of time.

skywatchDSCN9329

The position and size of the moon changes throughout the month marking time within the month.

skywatchDSCN9331

The length of day and night changes through the seasons marking time within the year.

If I knew more about astronomy, I guess I would notice the sky changes based on decades and even what century we're in.

What amazing and lovely blossoms!

I read an article that says life does seem to speed up for most people as they grow older.

Such a beautiful series, Carver, as always!! Lovely flowers and critters indeed!! Ah, but if you think time is going by quickly now wait until you're as old as I am! I still have trouble believing I've made it to 80!!! And another birthday in August!! Have a lovely weekend!!

Gorgeous! And you're right, I am 63 and the years go by so quickly and the days in the blink of an eye.

Skywatching is the perfect pastime for going off on a tangent... that's what I do when I gaze at clouds. But I am not as clever at articulating my feelings as you are! I liked this post a lot.

(And as an older woman, I should have something clever to tell you about everything getting better the faster the years go by. But I am not so sure that's true sometimes!)
