They can be a bit like snipers in their own way. Great shot, Carver.
Ooo... great picture... perched up high above us all. Great sky as his backdrop... very nice photo indeed!
Nice shot Carver. I bet it's waiting to launch a precision bombing attack on someone! Happy WW
Great photo. Happy WW.
Nice one...looking far ahead from high up there :)
When I lived in New York, I heard pigeons referred to as "rats with wings" - they are that prolific up there! But this one is too pretty for such a dreadful nickname. Nice shot, well captured!

ha ha Sandy how true But he is a pretty purple necked pigeon- they seem to photograph well
Great shot Carver! He definitely looks like he's got a watch on the comings and goings :) Happy WW and thanks for stopping by :)
What a cool shot! Love it! Hope you have a wonderful day!
WOW! I really like it! How did you get on "his level"?
Happy WW!
He is definitely on the lookout - we can all rest easier. *grin*

Great shot!
Looks like he's got a great lookout spot!
Great photo of the pigeon surveying his surroundings!
You've capture a lot of detail in that shot! Good day to you!
Beautiful shot. Where was it taken?
Happy WW. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Great shot. I like the depth of field of the beach in the background.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Come back anytime.
Lovely shot!
Thanks so much to everyone for visiting. To answer a few questions, I cropped the shot which was how I made it look like I was on the same level as the bird. I took the picture in early June at Atlantic Beach, NC. I had to laugh at some of the comments about pigeons. They are indeed notorious for bombing the unsuspecting as they fly overhead.
Love this!!! And love the caption you've chosen too.
Thanks for the visit today.
nice find! the pigeon does look like a sentinel! :)
fabulous composition, Carver!
A pigeon in duty. You're very imaginative. Great take!
Thanks again to everyone for your thoughtful comments.
