If anyone is interested in learning more about the mountain to sea trail you can read about it at the FMTS Site. This project was started in the 1970s and there are still portions that aren't completed but eventually it will be possible to hike from one end of my state to the other. I took the mountain and coastal sky shots during vacations. The falls reservoir is only 10 or so miles from my house.
You can find other Sky Watch Participants at the SkyWatch Home.

Very nice and beautiful shots! And I am going to look at that link:)
Well done:)
North Carolina is a beautiful state!
Beautiful pictures of NC!
Those are so pretty! My husband is going to want to hike every mile of those trails. :)
That a good idea! Though I can't say which would be my favorite! :)
Cheers, Klaus
Carver: Really cool offering for SWF, nicely done.
As always, you post great shots. All these pictures are so wonderful!
My SWF photos are posted in these blogs:
Jenn Was Here and Shutter Happy Moments.
Please drop by if you have some time. Thanks.
Ambitious, hiking across a whole state. Looks lovely. My son did a bit of the Appalachian Trail with the Boy Scouts; maybe I can interest him in the NC hike.
Sounds like a fantastic trail.
Beautiful shot and way to sea report.
I'm loving the shot taken at the beach. The lines are beautifully separated by the sand, sea and sky :)
Happy SkyWatch Carver!!!! :P
Great photos and interesting info.
Very cool to hike across the state, Great skys for SWF.
Cheers
Beautiful photos of a beautiful state! :) (I live in the mtns of NC, very close to that trail.)
What a great idea to post sky pics in different environments! Beautiful!
Very nice shot dear. Happy SWF!
You live in a stunning part of the country, Carver. That trail will be something. Those views are spectacular.
We were on Topsail Island for too short a stay! Nice knowing I was in a state with cool bloggers!
Just want to go there! Nice shots.
Another beautiful collage. I tried to make one and it was abstract at best..LOL. You posted about the downy woodpeckers on my blog. I have the suet in dough form for the summer so it's easy for the parents to feed their babies without getting all greasy and they are funny. They are shy though..
That's a lovely collage of photos representing from mountain to sea. I enjoyed reading the information about the trail, also. NC is a very beautiful state, from east to west and north to south. Lovely Sky Watch. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting and lovable scenerys you have shot. Happy sky watching and week end!
This is one trip I hope to make one day soon! NC is such a scenic state!
Thanks so much to everyone for visiting.
