I posted the shot below of the dome on the NC Museum of Natural Science on my other blog some time ago, but I'm pretty sure I haven't posted it on this blog yet. I like the way you can see the dinosaur through the glass and if you look closely you can see the moon on the right of the museum.
This museum is located on Bicentennial Plaza in downtown Raleigh between the Capitol and the Legislature Buildings.
The shot above shows the part of the museum adjacent to the dome. The shot below shows a section of the side of the museum adjoining the second shot. The museum has sections showing NC from the mountains to the sea. It includes exhibits on prehistoric NC, research and technology, a living conservatory, dead sea scrolls, a discovery room for children, as well as other exhibits.

WOW, the first picture is just awesome. I love that you can see the dinosaur bones and moon too!!
Wonderful post and pictures!!
Thanks for sharing your part of the world with us.
Sure is a BIG dinosaur! Makes me glad I live now and not back when they roamed the planet. The dinosaur lives in a handsome building.
It must be incredible inside. I love the architecture and size on the outside. Terrific photos!
I like to see the dino from outside. I think that view will get more kids in the museum.
Great post. There's plenty to do in Durham.
Oh, I would enjoy exploring this museum very much! The shot of the dinosaur is surreal!
My other half used to be a paleontologist so this was right up his street as we say here when I mentioned the dinosaurs to him. It is a fine looking buidling too.
MY, thats certainly a grand building and that 1st shot is fantastic.
great photography my dear!
Love the sky, which is what I noticed first, then the lovely structure and of course the awesome skeleton! Great post, thanks for sharing!
Super photos - the dinosaur is well placed watching the world go by!!
What an attractive museum, I would love to tour one day. Great pics.
Cheers!

Carver: This looks like a grand place to visit. I could see the skeleton.
Fantastic Photos! Love the dinosaur and like EG, I'm glad I live now instead of then. Incredible building! Thanks for sharing your world!
Interesting architecture. I'm sure it would be a fascinating place to visit. Nice photos.
That's a stately, classic building and you've captured some great photos.
That's a grand and beautiful building. You captured it so well.
Museums are such a treasure for the community. Love the architecture and seeing the dinosaur thru the windows is a nice touch. Thank you for sharing a piece of your world.
You captured the entire dinosaur! Wonder what it must be standing below it!
Some wonderful architecture here, and I also love the dinosaur glimpse.
Great pictures of an beautiful building!
Wow - great photos. I really love the first one - I wouldn't have noticed the dinosaur if you hadn't pointed it out. Thanks for stopping by my blog too!

Great building. I wonder what I'll find inside...
A beautiful Neo-Classical building and the dinosaur is a nice toutch.
Looks a nice museum. Yes, I saw a dinosaur!
You were two blocks from my office and didn't let me know you were coming?? Hmmph!
I featured a photo of the museum in a My World waaaay back (#3 I think), but I didn't write up anything extensive on it. Certainly not as much as this!
Looks a great place to take a visit. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
