I took this shot on Monday and I was struck by the beauty of an almost dead tree surrounded by a sea of green leaves from other trees. I focused on the top where the bare tree is against the sky so it almost looks like a winter shot but it was actually shot on June 1.

About Me
- Carver
- My original site, Carver's Sight or is that Site, was inspired by reading the blogs of people who I got to know through the Melanoma Patient's Information Page (MPIP). As time has gone on, I find myself talking as much about gardening, photography, and other random thoughts as I do about melanoma follow up. I am happy about that. I have set up an additional site, Carver Cards, which is primarily a photoblog.

Lovely. There's something magical for me about bare branches reaching for the sky.
Oh I love the bare branches of trees against the sky. Always makes me smile.
I hope the key word is 'almost'. Maybe it can find its way back!
You fooled me - I thought it was a winter shot. Well done.
That contrast of bare limbs against the blue sky of spring is beautiful. Nice composition!
Great photo. Love the cloudy sky behind the tree.
Happy SWF
I absolutely love this perspectivce, great shot.
Have a great week

always a fan of leafless trees...they've a certain something to them...beautiful capture.
Very nice. I've always been drawn to the look of the twists and angles of bare branches against the sky.
Hi Carver,
This is beautiful and I I like your title. Beautiful sky!
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Nice contrasts !=)
Hi Carver we normally only see the tree structure in winter. As you mentioned its lovely to see it against the clothed trees and those wonderful marching clouds.
I love how the clouds line up behind it in the background too. Sort of an order amid chaos... thing.
Love the way this shot turned out! Wonderful with the contrast of life and death and the great blue! Awesome!
I like tree against the sky

I agree with the others, there is just something about bare branches against or reaching for the skies that is just breathtaking! Fantastic capture, Carver!
Have a great weekend!
It's a wonderful photo, and there's a lot of beauty in those trees that no longer have leaves, as you've shown in this delightful image. Thanks for sharing it and have a great weekend.
Beautiful....stark simplicity...the contrast against the sky is striking...
Time to dig out Shel Silverstein's book "The Giving Tree."
~a wonderful weekend to you~ Maria
There's something about bare dead trees that actually do attract good shots against the sky :)
Yes, I thought this was a winter shot. You are great at those high in the air shots!
Love the cloud formation, looks like object free falling from the sky.
I have a soft spot about old trees - there was one in my grandma's yard - grand, black and never had leaves - your picture brought memories. Beautiful picture!
It looks a little scary ;)
(from the movie "Harry Potter") LOL
Fantastic shot !!
Beautiful picture!
Who says that only the young are beautiful, I love your old tree.
Wow. Great shot!
That is a beautiful shot.
I like this one. Threes against the sky is always nice.
very nice contrast, i love the clear skies =)
That old tree is pretty tough standing by!
Fantastic contrast... what a beautiful photo!
Fighting his way up, reaching the skies... I love the dramatic black color of the tree, it looks like it's struggling to reach up.
Great!
I like the look of bare tree branches against the sky..
There is just something about them that draws my eye..
Very cool capture !!
