The last day of January was clear and that night I saw the moon rise through the trees and over snow topped roof.
A little later the moon was above the trees and shining like a beacon on the snowy world.
The next morning I managed to catch the moon setting while the sun rose.
I was amused by how the rooster in the weather vane looked like it was in the trees with the birds below.
As the sky got light the moon was easier and easier to photograph.
I like the way it looks with the moon over snow topped rooftops while setting, in a different way from the night rising shot.
I took so many different photographs because it was enchanting to me to capture the setting moon on the first day of February.
I find it easier to photograph the moon during the day time than at night because I don't have the right kind of camera equipment for night shots to be optimal.
That night I had another shot at the rising moon and I like the way it almost looks like a tree ornament.

Hello sweet friend,
Your pictures of this splendid Moon is a kind of a dream for me.Who knows, maybe someday I will be lucky to get one picture! :)
Awesome pictures!Congratulations!
Léia
Wonderful captures!
Hah, did you even get some sleep at all that day?
It remains a dream for me to capture the moon as well as you did.
Amazing skies!
A wonderful and beautiful full moon.
Great series! Excellent.
Well done.
Fantastic shots of the moon. Beautiful.
You did a good job capturing the moon in various situations. I like the weather vane in the tree. Thanks for sharing.
I rally like that first shot! I didn't even think about using the roof that way. Brilliant!
I like the first shot - the glittering roof is pretty - the sparkles really show in the moonlight xo
The daytime shots are beautiful. The moon is so lovely and I can't resist either! As for the night shots, you don't need special equipment, just a manual camera. And what I realised was that it didn't need anything like the long exposures I was using. To get the detail at night that you have in your daytime shots you could try something like 200 ISO at F8 for 1/100. This worked for me in the summer but I need to extend the exposure in the winter. Hope you can try this and see how it works for you.
Janice.
Fabulous captures of the moon.
Have a good weekend
I feel like reading "Good Night Moon" or "I see the moon and the moon sees me..." I've got rooster songs, too, but I'll spare you those.
Lovely shots of your views of the moon.
Lovely posts.
Great series - I like the first shot best with its twinkling snow.
The snow-capped roof adds such luminosity to your scene. Delightful.
The moon was quite lovely last week.
I LOVE this first shot!
Sorry I'm so late getting here, had an appointment, but your moon shots are absolutely gorgeous! How wonderful to be able to catch these! Needless to say the moon here was mostly covered by clouds. And then the other night I woke up and glanced out the window and there it was!! in all it's glory and I swear it was laughing at me because I was so dopey I couldn't even find my camera let alone take picture. So, I'm really glad you got these! Have a great weekend, Carver!!

Nice shots
Abstract Painting
Wonderful moon shots! The tree ornament is a cool capture.
Your moon captures are well done. We have the same problem with taking the moon shots during night time. I live in the city so there are so many bright lights, and yes, I do not have the right lens.
An excellent series of moon shots. I have no luck taking pics of the moon.
Beautiful shots of the moon. You captured it perfectly! I wish I would be able to catch it too!
All the best.
Lovely shots of the moon in the sky :)
Thanks so much for your weekly help, I can't express how much I appreciate it :)
Wonderful variety of moon shots! Especially love the glittering snow beneath the moon in the first shot!
Wonderful series of the moon.
The shot with the rooster is my favourite.
Enjoy your weekend!
Very interesting post about the moon.
Have a good weekend.

whenever I see a beautiful moon this rhyme comes to mind:
I see the moon
and the moon sees me
God bless the moon
and God bless me
thx for sharing your pictures!
Well the moon really mesmerized alot of us last week, I had the same idea LOL!
Great shots, it was begging to be snapped.
Great series of shots! Your weather vane rooster does look like he's in the trees with the other birds. I have trouble capturing the moon at night too.
My compliments for your moon shots !!
AMAZING :-)
Lovely, especially the third shot :)
Whay great shots!
What WONDERFUL captures of the moon you've shared! Try as I might, my efforts seldom produce such lovely results. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs and blessings,
I am also so taken with the moon and I would have been out there too..with less success..
I tried to do the moon, too, when it was a perigee moon. You're right, success is illusive. :-)
