E is for Eliot, Evans, and Emory. George Eliot was the pen name for the author whose birth name was Mary Anne Evans.
The sea shells beside the George Eliot novel below were brought to me by a friend who found them on the beach and her last name is Emory.
For other participants take on the letter E, please visit the home of ABC Wednesday.
I just found out that the kind ABC Team chose my post from last week (D is for Durham) as the blog of note for week 4. Note - my thank you below has strange spacing I can't seem to fix. Apparently adding the note has done something with the html and fixing it is beyond my abilities.
I am honored to be chosen for this award, particularly since there were so many creative posts on the letter D. I am enjoying participating in ABC Wednesday, for the first time, so much. Thanks to Mrs. Nesbitt for starting this fun meme and for the expanding ABC Wednesday Team who help to keep it running so smoothly.

George Elliot is a favorite of mine, and a quote from "Middlemarch" is on my blog. Looks like you have some wonderful early editions. Great E post and photos.
Congratulations with the award - also with your literary choice this week.
Yes, you've been a great addition to the group. You comment frequently, which is nice, too.

Very original post for E.
Love old books...you have photographed them so well. Feel like I could reach out a take a book.
Great take on the letter E. I haven't ready enough of the classic literature, that's something I intend to fix over the next few years.
This was beautifully arranged. I love sand dollars and books. Seashells and seaglass are two other passions. Great E post.
Hi Carver!
Congratulations! Your posts are great and I love the books.
There's always space for a new book or two.

My ABC Wednesday here
great photos. I love books.
Thank you.
Great post for the letter "E" and congrats.
It seemed many writers in the past had chosen to use pen names, sometimes people mistaken them for being males. As in the movie on Mim's Island. Thanks for bringing up the subject. :-)
