When it's in full bloom my back garden crepe myrtle is almost red, particularly in a certain light. As the blooms fade and it's almost finished blooming, the flowers are pink. I like it both ways against the sky. I did another skywatch in July, with this crepe myrtle, when it was in full bloom and quite red, you can click here if you want to compare. The crepe myrtle trees in my front yard aren't at a good spot for photography so I usually shoot the back yard one.

Sweet! My crepe myrtle hasn't really done much since it had to be relocated. But it's getting incrementally better every summer it seems. So I'm hopeful.
Adorable myrtle tree and with the blue sky is in perfect harmony there.
Amazing capture!
Léia

I do believe crepe myrtle is my favorite flowering shrub/tree ... they 'come' in so many wonderful colors
I love skywatching. I love crepe myrtle. So I am doubly happy that they are in the same frame.

Beautiful pink and blue...gorgeous!
I remember that crepe myrtle. We're slowly sliding toward fall here, but you look like you still have summer in all its glory.
