The first shot was taken Wednesday when there was a break in between storms and briefly pleasant air temperatures. I took this shot standing on top of the Shelley Lake Dam facing towards the bridge.
The second shot was taken on Tuesday, also in between storms with pleasant air temperatures for a change, but I was standing on the bridge facing towards the Dam for this one.

Beautiful shots, lovely contrast. In the first one the landscape is amazing.
What a contrast! Such beautiful skies and reflections in the first shot and then there are the beautiful grumpy ones, but you have to love them all. They bring so much variety into our lives! Have a wonderful weekend, Carver!

Lovely shots, both of them, but I couldn't help wondering where the Shelley Lake Dam would be, so I tried Google. Going to take me a long time to learn to do that instead of asking "Where is that?"
Have a happy Friday.

The trees are still very green, even this late this late into summer!

What beautiful shots, especially the 1st shot
Happy SWF! Enjoy your weekend!
WHAT a place, the first picture was marvelous, and I can almost feel the silence and the good feeling just watching your photos Carver :-)
Hugs from Anne
The reflections in the first shot are wonderful, Carver. It sure turned dreary for the second...but actually it's pretty in it's own way.
Nice contrast between the two shots. I love the first one with those fluffy white cloudlets reflected in the dam.
Have a great day!
Beautiful photos, - love the reflections.
I hoped the rains you've been getting tempered your hot weather a bit. Enjoy the weekend.
Wonderful photos, Carver. My favorite is the first one. the sky and reflections are beautiful.
These are wonderful! I love the reflections in the first shot...and the powerful sweep of the clouds in the second one very much.
Both are beautiful! But my favorite is the first one with the reflections.
Love the mirror effect on the lake.
Happy Skywatch.
My Skywatch is here.
Terrific captures both.
Beautiful skies, lovely clouds,I know that the weather has been trying for much of the country. I hope that fall will bring with it pleasant weather but it is hard to predict these days.
Ah! I do love the reflected sky. Happy Friday and happy skywatching!
Lovely skies both.
Great cloud reflections.

Such beautiful photos. The reflections are fantastic. Great shots.
Have a great weekend.
All things considered, I'm not even complaining about the weather this week. Or last week for the most part. Anything would have been an improvement!
Awesome shots, love the first one with the refections.
Beautiful skies....a beautiful place...so peaceful as place for great meditation....thank you for sharing.
Happy Weekend to you!
The first photo is of Picture Post card quality..a perfect example of reflections.
Utterly gorgeous.
