ABC Wednesday: T is for Turkey

I photographed this turkey several years ago while hiking on the Appalachian trail. This time of the year, I'm thankful that I'm not a turkey.

I love to see pictures of turkeys in the wild. Good one.

I was lucky enough to see a turkey up close only once, but he wasn't in the wild. I'd never be able to raise them because I like the taste of turkey and I couldn't kill something I raised. I'd be a poor farmer of animals, that's for sure.

I have never seen a wild turkey in the countryside. Such a weird looking creature. But they taste so good.

I think Thanksgiving is a the "death" penalties for turkeys.

Catching up with all the T entries.

when I lived in Vermont, there was one spot on the road to a friend's house where a flock of wild turkeys would cross. it happened so often that I learned to slow down as I approached to avoid hitting them. when I told my friend about it, she said, "you know, if you hit one just right, you could bring it with you for dinner." ha!
