ABC Wednesday: M is for Mailbox
There are as many different decorative mailboxes in my neighborhood as there are minds to come up with them. My mailbox isn't included because it isn't anything special until May when my azaleas bloom and cover it with blossoms. I think my favorite of these is the top far right hand one where they built a little stone house to surround the mailbox. That mailbox house also has a small garden bed which will be pretty when the flowers bloom.

The people in your neighbourhood appear to be creative thinkers!
a house that's about 10 minutes from us has a beautiful mailbox. it has a horse head with a ring hanging from it's mouth. the paint is peeling off too to add that antique look to it. it's one of my favorite mailboxes. i've also seen some pretty mailboxes that were painted artistically. they're very unique too. hope all is well. have a great day~
Love the polka-dot one.
What a great collection! I love them all and have been known to stop and photograph unique mailboxes, too. Have a marvelous week,

Our Dutch mailboxes are very dull compared to these wonderful creations. Ours are just an opening in the frontdoor.
Thanks for your visit, have a great week!

What a marvelous idea for M! pretty mailboxes, mine is boring black...

Well, aren't those mailboxes a lot of fun!? Ours is not that creative. I once saw one that had a target painted on its side because it was on a road where kids liked to take out mailboxes with their cars...or bats....or anything else to knock them down. :-(
I love your idea for the letter M! What fun...
Those are pretty nifty!

Cool! There are some mailboxes around here that I have been meaning to photograph - people are very creative.
I'm glad you have the freedom to do that with your mailbox. Ours have to be the same in the neighborhood and if there are changes that need to be made, I believe we have to write a request to the city and wait for the approval before a change can be made.
Do they decorate the mailboxes seasonally too?
frankly my dear
My favorite is the green one, such a cheerful and life-giving color! Since I live in a mobile home park, they are all the same, some more rusted than others. Mine has needed replacing twice since I moved here 12 years ago. I swear each time, they buy a cheaper one so that parts rust and break off. Not terribly bright, eh?
Hello Dear Carver!
Beautiful box.
Buy green.
Greetings ♥ ♥ ♥

We used to have a wonderful birdhouse mailbox that proclaimed 'Finch's Nest' but now in town the mailboxes are very prosaic and institutionalized!!! Just a big steel compartmentalized box - no imagination, and besides that they are often pried open and ravaged!
These are great mailboxes. I love looking at the ones I find in different areas. Down in Florida there are the Pelicans, the Dolphins and the Manatees, all ready to welcome your mail :)
Denise took my words right out of my fingers! But I like yours better than those.
An azalea-covered mailbox. Now that's magical!
Wonderful mailboxes indeed!
Love the little green house mail box, great collection
So many creative mailboxes ...Who wouldn't want mail after seeing these :)

what a fun use for m!! i want the polka dot one!
My favorite is the stone one too--I bet it is beautiful with all the flowers in bloom.

This is a real story, when I went to Canada, my Sarawak friend though the mail box was for bread delivery.
I like the Polka Dot one.
We don't have mail boxes in the UK we have letter boxes in our front door, or as in our home in the wall at the front of the porch.
Interesting post,
Di.x
