A different kind of osprey, that's for sure! I've never actually seen one of these in the wild like this. Nice catch!

I would be scared about this kind of bird as well, it's huge, isn't it? LOL

I can only imagine how loud it was..i get regular Coast Guard helicopters over my house and they can be very loud but that must have been something!
poor birdies.

Wow how did you manage to get a picture of propellers, seems like they ought to be going much faster, that is scary :) it's really very unusual looking too.

Thanks to everyone for visiting. I didn't know what it was until Mojo mentioned Osprey in his comment and I looked it up. This is what I found:

"Osprey is an American multi-mission, military, tiltrotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. It is designed to combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft."
