The first crane is creatively distorted by the UNC Hospital building.
The next two shots of cranes were photographed at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
In case you haven't caught on I love to photograph cranes.
The rest of the cranes were shot in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.
I think the next crane might even be cadmium yellow.
I like the clouds catching the crane.
The cranes below look like they are cat napping on the building.
I will conclude with one last crane shot because this post is crashing to an end.
You can cruise on over to the home of ABC Wednesday.

wow, the sky images with cranes in it is mind blowing.
love your take.
cheers.
They are such elegant machines, - and especially against the blue of the sky. remind me of the birds they are named after
Whenever I hear the word crane, my mind quotes Dame Edith Sitwell for me: Jane, Jane, tall as a crane, the morning light creaks down again.
I think she meant the bird, but who knows with Dame Edith.
Thanks so much for so interesting post.I didn't know about "cranes"and I liked a lot your idea, it's CREATIVE! :)

You must really have craned your necks to shoot these photos :-)
What terrific and interesting captures for the C Day, Carver! I'd never really thought of a crane as being elegant, but somehow that's the first thought that came to mind! I also love your blue, blue skies! Perfect backdrop! Have a wonderful week!

Cranes, cranes and more cranes, I think you really have to be a crane lover to take that many pictures of so many cranes. I don't think I've seen that many cranes in my lifetime. Great choice for C day. LOL and to think I thought I was going to see some pictures of birds....
You really hit the cranes, and see heaven....great post ;))
Fascinating shapes of all the cranes and lovely blue skies.
The first picture is gorgeous, Carver, and the ones with clouds are lovely. The one looking upward at the cranes on top of the buildings made me nervous, however. A lifelong fear of heights, even in photographs. Silly, I know, but there it is.
Wonderful photos, though.

Superb photos of endlessly fascinating cranes.
so many cranes...nice.
Ha ha, I was looking for a bird in the first photo. Silly me!
Great post. You are very CREATIVE CARVER.
Love all the different CRANES and their positions and COLORS.
Many faces of a crane you have captured here! The reflection shot is my fav :)
whoever CREATED the 1st CRANE was quite CLEVER.
On behalf of the ABC Wednesday team, Thank you! ROG
These are amazing machines, huge and impressive, but bring a tear to my eyes as my nephew was crushed by a crane in a work related accident. I can't see a crane without thinking of Stewart!
Please don't feel bad that I share this. It was many years ago, but always a reminder of a sweet young man, taken too soon.
Well thought out and presented..I was all into the blue sky..I miss that...
Oooh! Great crane photos. The first one is especially interesting and clever. Good for you.
I will never look at cranes in the same way! This post gave me an appreciation for them which had been recently lacking (especially for the very large one close to my home building a huge building in what is supposed to be a strictly very nice residential area!!)
Thanks! :)

Loved that last shot the best. Something about it just draws me in.

C is for Crystallized Twigs, please come and see.
I was wondering how much you would have craned your neck to take these wonderful shots.
A lot of construction. hope the cancer hospital treat and heal many people.
Crafty and clever, that's what you are! Great post!
