This house sits in a part of Durham, NC that is mostly office buildings and parking lots. I find it charming but wish the car hadn't been in the driveway.

About Me
- Carver
- My original site, Carver's Sight or is that Site, was inspired by reading the blogs of people who I got to know through the Melanoma Patient's Information Page (MPIP). As time has gone on, I find myself talking as much about gardening, photography, and other random thoughts as I do about melanoma follow up. I am happy about that. I have set up an additional site, Carver Cards, which is primarily a photoblog.

Your photo of the heritage home reminds me of a classic black and white movie where shadow adds atmosphere to the scene. The big tree frames the house perfectly and had the modern car not been parked there, this picture could have been taken decades ago. Lovely shot, Carver, I have a feeling you will be taking its picture again someday. :)
It does make a beautiful picture.
Love these style houses; would love one with a covered porch, a rocker and an outside beer fridge. Retirement, love it.
I agree with you. The car seems ruin the vintage old look of the house. Awesome shot!

Beautiful picture!
such a lovely sun-drenched day!
I love the picture, no doubt you've captured a beautiful light in this house. Great photo.
I like the way you framed it with that big old tree to the right.
You're right - a charming house. The car does spoil the view a bit.
lol, I agree about that car. But we don´t always have it our way. The building looks very good in your shot. :)
Beautiful old house, great photo; they need a heritage car to go with that house.
It is a nice home with great siding. It's lovely in monochrome!
A very lovely heritage home.
A modern car does spoil the look of that beautiful house of another time.
Really nice picture and house, Thanks for comment in my blog.

This was a lovely post. Like it!!
It is great for black and white..I keep forgetting about participating..
Yes, the driveway should have sported a bent over figure with swishing black coat and homburg, to complement the style of house.
Such a pretty someplace, and the reflections in the second floor windows area great. Sorry about the car, but it is still a wonderful shot. genie
Looks like a dream house. Simply superb
beautiful and poetic
I like this house, too. Your image makes me think of an Edward Hopper painting.
Beautiful shot!
I agree with the car, but we don't always get what we wish for, no?
;-)
Beatyful picture of the old house..and yes it would be better without the car...;-D
