Happy birds! They love spring as much as I do and I'm sure they're just as glad to see it as I am! Terrific captures, Carver, the birds are absolutely gorgeous! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Nothing like a hungry woodpecker for an alarm clock! Great shots of the birds.

Thanks to everyone for visiting. To answer the question about the lens: I used the built in 36x f3.4-5.7 21.5-800mm lens (35mm equivalent)on my Nikon PS500 camera for the bird shots and the built in macro setting for the raindrops.

I hate to be a wet blanket but I really don't think that woodpecker will be too successful in hammering out a nest in the drain pipe. A lovely collection of birds Carver.

the woodpecker looks cute with its orange head.

I hear birds chirping in the morning where I am which is probably less annoying than a woodpecker. only wish they were do it at a reason hour.

hope you have a sweet spring.

You get some wonderful birds at your feeder, Carver. Here, I consider it a special gift when i see any sort of woodpecker, and even Blue Jays are rare sightings. Lovely photos!

I love the bird pictures especially the ones having a bath. Thanks for sharing these. I was told that the reason that woodpeckers (males) hammer on metal objects to to make a lot of noise to attract a mate.

These close up captures are so fine they could be used in a bird book. I am so impressed with this post. Loved seeing the different birds up close and personal. That blue jay looks fearless. When I was a little girl they used to get into attack mode with my mother would go out to hang out the clothes to dry. Impressive pictures this week. genie

I loved that photo of the woodpecker. Not a common sight here in London.
