The Weekend in Black and White: Esso

I took this shot a few days ago in the NC mountains. In the U.S. it's unusual to see Esso signs anymore. After 1972 regulatory restrictions Exxon replaced Esso on most U.S. signs, although Esso continued to be used in other parts of the world.

Hello Dear Carver!
Interesting black and white photo.
I wish you have a nice weekend.
For me, the three days it rains.
I hope he comes back autumn sun.
Greetings from distant Polish...

Your photo has a timeless look. Could have been taken in the 1950s. Well done.

Like a symbol of an outdoor museum. There is a feeling that time has stood still here in silence. Lovely.

A wonderful vintage Esso sign. The picture turned out perfectly in black and white. So appropriate for this capture.

Now there's a blast from the past. I love the almost surreal smoothness of the tanks in this one. Striking!
