The Weekend in Black and White: Chickadee in the snow on December 26 2010

The last time we had a white Christmas in the triangle area of NC was in 2010. I photographed the carolina chickadee on the day after Christmas, 2010. You can barely see the chickadee but it's on my deck wall eating seed I put out for the birds. I brush the snow off the top of the wall and cover it with seeds and treats during bad weather.

I have to say, I hope we don't get any snow in the south of the UK; everything comes to a stop.

All those little piles of snow create an interesting artwork. Love the peeking little chickadee's head at the bottom of the photo.

Such a lovely photo! Winter is a hard time for small birds.

Perfect for B&W -- as always your birds were lucky to have you.

I do want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and thank you for the beautiful posts on both your blogs and your visits. Those are year-round gifts that I really appreciate!
