I was quite surprised to see swordplay amongst the activities taking place at Shelley Lake.
I was dazzled by the reflections in the creek that feeds into the lake.
The geese were foraging in the grasses.
The lake was a study in blues as was the sky.
One of the cormorants held a wings spread out pose for a long time.
The duck seemed to be chasing its tail in the water.
The three ducks below were having a pleasant conversation.
The gulls were flying with sparkling fairies.
Last year and the year before, this lake froze over for part of the winter but I doubt it will this year.
It feels a lot more like spring than winter.
It annoyed me when I spotted the plastic bag draped over the branches below.
When I see trash I pick it up but I wouldn't have been able to reach that littering plastic.

What interesting sightings in the park, Carver! The odds seem stacked against one sword fighter who I suspect is the teacher. I like your descriptions of what was happening with the wildlife. I don’t recall seeing a duck chase its tail before but I have seen ... as you so beautifully put it: “gulls flying with sparkling fairies”.
Fabulous sparkling fairies and lovely blue skies! And no snow? How delicious!
Great captures!
Regards.

Wonderful shots of nature. Love the variety.
Great reflections!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
What a beautiful place to be able to spend time and get terrific captures as a bonus! Love those blue skies, and a duck chasing its tail is delightful! How fun! Interesting sightings indeed! Hope you have a great week, Carver! Enjoy!

Beautiful pictures, - reflections are fascinating, - love the cormorants too:)
God bless the cormorants, which He made without waterproof feathers, so they have to hang their wings out to dry. They're always fun to see, and they never complain.
Love your photos, Carver.

Carver, it looks like a beautiful day to be out for a walk. Your photos are lovely, especially the ducks. Great post, have a wonderful week!
Fantastic shots.
A beautiful place and lovely photos. It's funny, this is the second blog I've visited tonight pointing out litter in a beautiful park.
Hope your low energy is temporary..I wonder what the sword play is about. My husband has been a fencer for 15 years..love the ducks...
Your photography has come a long way since you started blogging. Just lovely shots of the woods and reflections in the creek. I hope whatever is sapping your energy is very temporary. i learned a new and simple way of lymph drainage that one can do for oneself. If you want to know about it, drop me a line.
I call that a nice day. :) I love such days, but I guess you know that. Great shots.
Great captures, Carver!
I have enjoyed it...
