ABC Wednesday: A is for Asheville

Asheville is in the southern part of the North Carolina mountains.

I took these shots in the fall at the NC Botanical garden in Asheville.

I live near the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill so it was interesting to see the differences in these two botanical gardens in different parts of NC.

I enjoyed Asheville for a change since we tend to go to the northern part of the NC mountains for vacations.

I love botanical gardens, you learn so much about plants. Plus, you get that serene feeling when you visit them.

Botanical gardens are a source of information. Today I wrote about Allendale Park, which is a botanical garden actually!
Have a great day,Carver!

In the late 90's I visited Asheville and toured the Biltmore. Recently I listened to a Things You Missed In History Class podcast on the history of the Biltmore.

the statue reminds me of one we have in our city called "Appeal to the Great Spirit."
from what I've seen of Asheville online, I think that I would love it including the garden.

Asheville is a lovely area. I was just there visiting the Biltmore last fall. The colors were gorgeous, as you have depicted.

I'll have to check mileage from Charleston, SC to Asheville since we will be there soon and I now would like to see what you have highlighted. Kate, ABC TEAM

We RV'd in Asheville for a week one year -- in November. Did all the tour stuff -- incl. this garden. We loved it there -- beautiful fall weather -- and then we got snow. It was time to head South, but we've always said it was a place we'd love to go back to -- we felt very comfortable and at home there.
