The dark bird in the water is a cormorant and I got another shot where it had a fish in its mouth so I knew it was having some luck fishing. What surprised me was how the gulls seemed to be encroaching on the cormorant's fishing space. This shot is a little blurrier than I like but there was so much action going on that it was hard to get a clear shot that included the whole group.

About Me
- Carver
- My original site, Carver's Sight or is that Site, was inspired by reading the blogs of people who I got to know through the Melanoma Patient's Information Page (MPIP). As time has gone on, I find myself talking as much about gardening, photography, and other random thoughts as I do about melanoma follow up. I am happy about that. I have set up an additional site, Carver Cards, which is primarily a photoblog.

There is lot of character in the photograph.
Really action packed - unique shot of gulls attacking a solitary cormorant. Thanks for sharing.
Great capture of motion there.
It's alot going on in the photo, so it dosn't have to be too sharp
Great shot.
Happy new YEAR.

Looks like someone is being harassed, everybody wants to eat for free!
Nice B&W post!
Great action and drama in this b&w photo.
I think the cormorant should be afraid - very afraid!
This is like a monochromatic watercolour painting! Lovely tones! And so much action!
Great action photography ~ love the birds and the water ripples ~ ^_^

My gosh! Great catch! Not meant to be a pun.
Loch Ness? LOL
Must be a very good fisher, the gulls all want to get in on the act.
Great capture!:)
Welcome to Carver!
Wonderfully again see your beautiful photos.
I'm sorry, I was not far from you.
I send greetings!

Hey, it's such a smart capture, well done! :)

That cormorant is seriously outnumbered! Well spotted.
I think a bit of blur at times like this is great. You really did capture the movement beautifully. genie
Perfect shot.
O desfoque colaborou para a ideia de ação...gostei, um abraço!
