Our World Tuesday: August begins

We went on a walk Sunday morning which is something I haven't done much of this summer.

Although it's still miserably hot and humid, there is a window in the morning where it's not too hot to walk.

If Bill hadn't suggested that we try to get out early enough for a walk I'm sure I wouldn't have done it but I'm glad we did.

We lucked out because it started raining about 5 minutes after we finished walking.

It's supposed to be slightly cooler this week. Still hot but not as extreme as it has been.

Back home the male towhee was singing in the bath.

Nice to know that it’s cooling down a little in your part of the world … that is such a pretty shaded bridge to walk over in the forest. And I like the disheveled look of the bird in the bath. :)

Looks like a lovely place to walk -- even with your weather lately!! I have to admit that I don't envy you the heat! Beautiful captures as always and I, too, love the singing towhee! Delightful! Hope you have a great week, Carver, and hopefully a break in the heat!

I know what you mean about trying to get a walk in the morning when it's still a bit cool. Today I walked to the bank...even then, it was a bit on the hot side.

Thanks for taking us on your little adventure. Here's hoping for cooler days.

Despite the heat everywhere looks green and cool in your pictures - just shows how deceptive a camera can be!

I agree the early morning is the best time to walk when it is so hot out there. Lovely photos and the wet towhee is a cute shot.

Yes there is a window early in the day when it is cooler, I have been doing a bit of gardening and watering at that time. Beautiful pictures, the towhee is really good.

It has been so hot here too. I tend to stay in rather than go to a park or somewhere cool. At least I can relax and get cold drinks at home :-) I'm glad you were able to get out while it was cool.
