The last day of March ended with evening storms but the sun broke through on April Fool's Day.
It wouldn't have surprised me if the joke had been on us and it had rained on our museum park walk.
Fortunately April 1 ended up being a perfect day for a walk.
I already used some of the shots from this walk for my Our World post, but I had plenty more for SkyWatch.
I take so many pictures when walking here that I'm surprised I ever make it back to the car.
That night the moon shone brightly against the evening sky.

The first lock I'm going to show you is the Battery Creek Lock downstream from the James River, off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Virginia mountains near the NC border.
The next shot is of the James River upstream from the Lock.
Rather than type up the information about the lock, I am using a photo of one of the signs.
Below is another shot of the James River near where the Lock is.

Following are some shot I took in the North Carolina mountains of another lock.
This lock is for water from Bass Lake at the Moses Cone Estate in Blowing Rock, NC.

Bill and I went on a walk at the North Carolina Museum of Art Park on Sunday.
A mild winter and very wet spring has left the park green.
The pond was quite full and suitable for reflections.

In the next shot you can see Bill patiently waiting for me to snap a shot of Lowe's Pavilion by Mike Cindric and and Vincent Petrarca.
The central object in the next shot is Wind Machine by Vollis Simpson. The smokestack is left from the old Youth Prison which isn't there anymore.
After a rainy evening it was pleasant on Sunday morning.

The Museum Amphitheater has concerts and movies.
I like the butterfly backdrop.
I took the next shot from behind the stage facing the seating.
One more shot of the wind machine, this time shooting from below the hill so you don't see the pole it sits on.
The next shot is on the opposite side of the pond from where I shot it in the earlier photos.
