That's My World Tuesday: Late November Trees

These photographs were all taken in my yard and neighborhood over the past 5 days. Some of the trees which were filled with leaves earlier in the week have already dropped most of them.

Photobucket

I have three oak trees in front of my house. The shot above is of a portion of two of the oaks on the side of my house which is the farthest away from my driveway. The shot below is of the oak which is in front of my house and also canopies my driveway.

Photobucket

The shot below shows part of the yellow leaves oak canopy which goes from my front yard to back yard and the bottom part of the shot shows my pecan tree which is in my back yard.

Photobucket

Below is my pecan tree just a few days ago but it has already dropped almost all of its leaves now.

Photobucket

The shot below is my pecan tree at sunset with the light from my deck shining on it.

Although I will miss the privacy my trees provide, particularly in the front, it's nice to have the additional sun light in the winter. My back yard is fairly private year round because I have bushes that keep their screening leaves.

Photobucket

The shot below is from my bedroom window with the oak on the left and pecan on the right. More and more light is coming into my window as less leaves remain. I do like that. The oaks with red leaves provide shade in the summer but I get extra living room and kitchen light in the winter when their leaves drop.

Photobucket

I took the shot below standing under my oak trees so they canopy the top of the picture and my neighbor's Japanese maple is glowing redish orange. Most of the leaves on that maple dropped over the past few days.

Photobucket

Below is a shot of the main street in my subdivision. I live on a small side street. Most of the streets in my subdivision have a canopy of leaves which I miss in the winter, but it's also nice to be able to get clearer shots at the birds once the leaves drop.

Photobucket

We have a fair amount of evergreens so there is always some color in the winter.

I've been posting so many tree shots lately that my blog could almost be called Carver's Trees. Trees have been dominant in my posts on my other blog too. I guess it's pretty obvious that I LOVE trees. I love them year round. Bare branches are very beautiful to me too.

I lost a bunch of trees last spring that were having their underpinning cut out from under them by erosion. It killed me, but there wasn't a viable way to rectify the problem. They were on the lip of a steep grade and even putting in the retaining wall wasn't going to help because the back fill would have buried the roots too deep on that side to allow them to do their job. They were going to be lost either way, so I opted for the "controlled" way that wouldn't damage anything else. Still broke my heart though.

Its sad to see a living thing die .. there is some sort of tree blight up here, its making all the Plane trees bark peel and the leaves die on the branches vs turning/falling with the season.. its heartbreaking

So beautiful trees and I'm double envious here because I wanted more beautiful blue sky as well. The sun shining here for one day and today it's a rainy day again! :(
Lovely post dear Carver, congratulations!

Beautiful colors! I also love trees. There is a screen of cedar trees across the back of my lot so I always have some color in the winter too.

Probably the last colourful trees we will see for a long time. Nice pictures.

I enjoyed all of your tree images. The first one reminds of the Van Gogh quote, "There is no blue without yellow and without orange." Those colors really intensify each other.

I love trees too, in fact I dedicated one post about trees. And Joyce Kilmer wrote a poem about trees.
Anyway, you still show the gorgeous reds and yellows and even greens in your foliage. How I wish we have that here !

Happy thanksgiving!

I always get fascinated whenever I see your surrounding, so many colors and so much trees. We have trees by the neighborhood but it doesn't compare to how colorful yours get to be.

Lucky you to experience such beauty on a seasonal basis. I was fortunate to have just spent six weeks up in the Pacific Northwest and I got to see the change of seasons. By the time I left last week, a good portion of the leaves had fallen, but I totally enjoyed seeing the changes happening from one day to the next.

All your lovely Fall views are quite special. We don't see a lot of Autumn changes here in Southern California, but I did find a few deciduous trees in full color on a recent walk and shared them at Happily Retired Gal today.
Hugs and blessings,

I love the street lined with trees, and all the trees around your house. So beautiful. The autumn colors are great.

Beautiful. Fall here means acorns and pecans on the ground ... no color. I enjoyed your color!

All beautiful trees. I especially love the color of the Japanese maple. You have a lovely neighborhood with all of those trees.

I guess fall comes later in the South - beautiful bursts of color.

You are so beautifully surrounded by trees, not so the case here in this city.

What a beautiful collection of late November colour images! I've never even seen a pecan tree before but I love the nuts - and the colours of those leaves with the evening sun shining on them are gorgeous! Lucky you!

Lovely that you have so many trees along the streets. We had a storm 3 years ago and lost about 70% of the trees in our area...tragic...

This is so far the coolest collections of trees! Yes this IS Carver's Trees Blog ;)
