Our World Tuesday: NC State Farmers Market

My daughter came home for a visit and Friday we went to the NC State Farmers Market.

There was a craft fair there that day.
It was quite cold so we headed in for cover.
The open buildings in the market were as cold as it was outside which made the hats for sale look rather appealing.
The State Farmers Market is open all year round but the open air buildings will be empty soon.
They have enclosed buildings which are the ones open during the winter.
I was surprised to see so much fresh produce in the open buildings because we've already had a hard freeze but I guess the farmers pack up at night and have somewhere to keep the vegetables from freezing.
I think the peppers are almost as pretty as the baked goods.
The rest of the shots are ones I took in the enclosed building where we headed to warm up.
I like the way the penny candy looks arrayed like it is below. Actually it's probably more than a penny but when I was a child that was penny candy.
It's fun to browse and look at the various displays even when I'm not shopping.
There were a lot of items that would make good stocking stuffers.

I could really feel the chill in the weather from your photos, Carver. And thinking about stocking stuffers already also gave me a chill. All the displays look like works of art and tempting to purchase. Visiting a Farmer’s Market with your daughter seems like a fun thing to do. You both no doubt enjoyed fresh vegetables for dinner. :)

I love Farmers Markets! And this one looks terrific! How fun to have your daughter to go with you! It does look cold though! I also love the peppers, so colorful! These kinds of markets are such great places to shop, not only for food, but gifts for the holidays! Hope you have a great week, Carver! Enjoy!

Wow, what wonderful prices there.
Gorgeous photos, Carver, and I like some of those hats.
The peppers, however, are even more colorful than the baked goods. Great shot.

I loved this visit Carver. Neat thing to do with your visiting daughter! The peppers are my fave outdoor post and the "penny" candy is my favorite indoors. Even if I almost never eat candy any more the lovely display brought back great memories and if I were there, I'd probably have to make an exception to my diet and indulge.

I'm a regular at our local farmers markets. They are not as extensive as this, though. Some only have a half dozen vendors.

A wonderful place to lighten the load of your pocket book in. Love those candies but I also think about the stall holders having to set up and pack up after. I'm just a sucker for farmers' markets.
Great that you had your daughter there to share the fun.

You are lucky to have a farmer's market all year as we only have a couple during the summer and fall. Glad the weather was nice too..
