Oh my gosh -- I could have sent you a bucket of quagmire pictures (I didn't even know we lived practically in one until I read your post..but we definitely do these days). I mean I've heard the word before, but somehow I never thought about it as an actual muddy thing. I thought of it only in its figurative sense...like a political mess we couldn't get out of.
I like your quagmire pictures very much and I thank you for them and for the vocabulary lesson.
I remember the infamous 1994 Rumsfeld interview in which he stated he advised then-Pres. George H.W. Bush that going into Iraq during the First Gulf War would be a "quagmire." Infamous because, once he was GWB's Sec. of Defense, we did exactly that.
Carver, the lovely thing about physical quagmires is that they are often wetlands - sort of natural kidneys for the earth, filtering out impurities for the water table below and offering a habitat for so many birds and other wildlife. THANKS! Amy http://sharplittlepencil.com/2012/11/04/because-i-can/

quagmire is one of those words that sound so nicely as it rolls off the tongue.
Great shots and looks like those ducks were enjoying themselves.
I don't think I have seen that word used for a long time at ABC Wed.
You found perfect photos for the word Quagmire.

A fresh and intriguing take on the prompt...
Quagmire of poverty, reminds me of my childhood..
Questions
Would you mind pitching an answer?
Oh the ducks love the water, and the quagmire keeps the people at a distance. It's been wet, wet, wet here too. Sigh.
Such a clever take on the Q.

It's nice to see "quagmire" in photos like these rather than what I usually encounter it in, like "in a quagmire."
