Unfortunately my Weigela was wounded and died several years ago.
The only trace I have now of my wonderful Weigela is old photographs I took.
Weigela is a deciduous shrub and use to have some of my earliest spring flowers.
The new leaves are a wine color.
The leaves get more green in them as they mature.

Beautiful flowers, beautiful colours, such pictures always enrapture:) I am greeting
I have one of them and love it when it blooms. I wish they bloomed longer, though.

a winsome shot!
A very pretty bush, it did last quite a while. Maybe you can get a replacement one.

very pretty. i bought one from a catalog 3 years ago i think so we have been enjoying the blooms for 2 years now, but ours is not this deep color. ours is more whitish with pink splashes/trims, i cannot explain it fully, but i'll try to photograph it when it blooms again. it's in a pot right now. do you suggest transfering to ground?

Lovely bush, that is the beauty of photographs. Ours is just coming into flower now. Had two, one died but one thrived, ah the mystery of gardening.

I love Weigela but don't have one here in the town garden, - however there are two at our house in the country, one a lovely wine colour and the either with variegated leaves and pink and white flowers. Your photos are beautiful.
Beautiful flower, leaves and photos. Great "W" post.
How beautiful, and it lasted two decades. Love that it lives on in your shots.
Wow.... That was a long time...pretty too
Beautiful flowers.

Mother Nature is generous, these pictures are breathtaking!

Very pretty shrub. I had a rose bush that I loved and it also was injured and died. I still miss it so I know how you feel about your weigela.
It's good you still have these photos of your weigelia, for they are very beautiful! I have a weigelia in my small garden too. I love the flowers.
Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to Carver!
I am delighted with your photos showing the Weigela.
This shrub is hilarious, maybe it's a lovely color.
Regards:)
Very, very pretty!
It was such a beautiful bush, Carver! I know you miss having it now.
Snap, we did the same topic this week. Great mind think alike :)
Thank you for sharing the name of this plant, love it but did not know the name before.

I'm sorry you no longer have your weigela. Will you get another? I planted mine 3 years ago and had a few blossoms this Spring. I hope mine becomes as beautiful as the photos of yours!
