The same scene greeted me when I reached LaGuardia Airport but it didn't stop me from taking shots from the cab on the way to the hotel.
I took some shots of a whirl of color from the different umbrellas but those didn't work too well.
The good news is I was in Manhattan for a wedding and this was the sky that greeted me Saturday morning for the wedding day.
I was so glad we didn't have pouring rain on Saturday.
I had a view of the Hudson River from my hotel room and there were sailors already out at 7:00 am when I got up.
It was a great morning for people to be out on the water.
There was some standing water in part of the patio area outside of the room where the wedding guests were partying but that didn't stop the children from having a blast outside.
When I went outside to check it out a little girl was doing a rousing rendition of singing in the rain.
I love to see children having fun.
It was nice to be able to get outside and see how green everything was.
I think trees and plants make a big difference in a city.
After the wedding reception I went back to my hotel to rest a bit.
I enjoyed shooting from my hotel window.
An even better place to shoot from is my sister and brother-in-laws balcony.
The shot above is rather iconic and I liked the reflections in the next shot.
I spotted some children playing basketball.
I like the greenish blue pointed roof tops.
It was nice for me to be able to take photographs from my sister's balcony with a different view to see up, down, right and left.
I didn't see an actual sunset but I liked the tinge of pink in the clouds.
There was also a hint of a pink cloud in the next reflection.
My sister says the Empire State Building is lit up in different colors every night which I didn't know about.
It is an entirely different view as the sun goes down.
Back at my hotel I took some night shots of the city lit up after dark.
Sunday I headed back to the airport to go home. It was a nice weekend and good to see my family as we are all spread out across the U.S.

The rainy shots are very artistic. Glad it was sunny for the wedding. Great shots of the reflecting buildings.

Welcome to Carver!
Not impressed me pictures of rain. I do not like the rain ...
For me, it rains more than a month. There were only three days sunny ...
However, Manhattan delights. You've done a great picture.
Of course, you always do good; an image.
Regards:)
