When I got back from supper Friday night I was drenched from head to toe but Saturday was lovely.
This will be similar to other posts I've done this week with about half of the shots from my hotel window and the other half from my sister and brother in law's apartment balcony.
I'm starting with shots I took Saturday morning when I woke up in the hotel near where my sister lives.
There was a chance that it would rain on Saturday but it didn't.
I got a variety of views of the sky depending on where I looked.
It was nice having a view of the Hudson River.
For a change, I liked to have different views to photograph from my regular ones at home.
This is another of those posts where I have trouble narrowing down what I use.
Part of it is because the sky had so many sides to it.
It's very different from my home sky views where the obstructions are all from trees.
I like the variety of buildings in a large city.
The shot above and the rest of the shots, except for the last, one were taken from my sister and brother in law's balcony.
I liked the way there were soft clouds at sunset.
I also like the way city lights look against a twilight and then night sky.
When I was a young person I always thought I'd end up living in a major city.
Funny how life can turn out so differently than what we expect when we're young.
I took the shot below from my hotel window. The night street makes me think of the yellow brick road.

aah, new york weather, yep, that how it is - rain one day and sun the next.
nice shots of the sky. I suppose if you take them from the ground, it probably would have trees in them.
have a great day.
love the 3rd image a lot. it's so pretty looking at all the skyscrapers. well, you get to have both rain and sun in one trip.
Wonderful captures of your trip, Carver!! I love the blue skies and the clouds and what a great look at the city! Enjoy your weekend!
Yep, life does have a way of changing our plans. I never get tired of posts from your yard and neighborhood because they are beautiful and because they make me think of the path I once thought I'd take but didn't). But it is good to have a change once in a while and I really do love that you found beautiful nature/sky in the big city. The photos with the pink light are amazing.
Quite the city shots! What fun!
Cheers from Cottage Country!
