My neighbor's Japanese Maple brightens up my street.
It's such a vivid color in the fall right before the leaves drop. In the shot below on the top right my oak leaves are blending into the maple with their red color.
We went for a Sunday walk at Shelley Lake as we often do.
Since the trail that leads to the lake is at the end of the street in my subdivision I used to walk around this lake almost every day.
I need to get back into the habit of daily walks.
I like walking during the cooler seasons more than in the summer so there isn't any reason for me not to try to get back into the swing of walking more.
There are also a lot of alternate trails near me that follow the creeks that feed into the lakes.
There's something mysterious about fog.
Lately we've had sunny skies on Sunday even when other days are gray but I didn't mind having a gray foggy Sunday this week.
The duck below stayed under water for long periods of time while fishing.
The boat house is closed for the winter.
The cormorants weren't on the pilings like they usually are this time of the year.
It looks like the reflection from the Canada Goose is kissing the gull.
I love the way the ducks created abstracts in the water.
There was a diverse group of ducks hanging out.
Although many trees have lost their leaves, quite a few are still colorful.
There weren't as many people walking, probably because of the foggy day.
It was warmer than it has been lately although still slightly cool in the morning.

I also love the cooler days to go for a walk. These photos are a delight, your maple and oak are so vibrant, a last hurrah before they disappear until next year. It was a dreary day in Northern Virginia but we enjoyed a short car ride in the country today. It drizzled non stop but we found ourselves enjoying the rain. Have a great week Carver :)
The autumn colors muted by the fog created a very mysterious image. As the weather changes it can take a bit more motivation to step out into the cooler days. But it certainly looks worth it in your neck of the woods!
Beautiful photos!
Greetings, RW & SK
Great series of colorful images from your part of world.
Looks like a duck convention in that one picture! Beautiful Fall color -- we missed most of it, so I love seeing yours.
Daily walks are harder this time of year -- I too need to get back in the habit (go earlier before it gets dark or get out there in the morning one or the other).
A wealth of glorious autumn colour there, although I must say I don't like fog as much as you do. You live in a lovely location - lots of space to explore.
What a fabulous collection of Autumn images, Carver!! So many gorgeous colors! It is a wonderful time of year, isn't it!!! Thanks for sharing the beauty! Have a great week!
Fantastic and eye popping shots. They go well with my Gray Day and oak leaves floating to the surface.
Nice that still have fall!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
I'm a tad jealous the you still have a colourful fall there. ;)

I especially like your photos of the mysterious fog.
