ABC Wednesday: M is for morning glory

Marvelous Magnificent Morning Glory

Morning glories don't bloom until late summer here so I had to go to my photo archives.

I love morning glories but they can be invasive.

It was hard to decide which summer shots to use as I've photographed them a lot.

I decided to try and show some of the different varieties that spring up in my yard.

I have more of the purplish ones than the other varieties.

The vine below was climbing around my roses so eventually I had to remove it.

The next one had a visitor.

The last variety has smaller flowers than the others but larger leaves.

SkyWatch Friday: Spring

We've had a lot of interesting clouds this spring.

I'm starting with shots I took on April 3 and will be working backwards to the end of March.

I always take a lot of shots when we have the dense quilted looking skies.

The first day of April was almost all blue skies.

The white blossoms go so well with blue.

Although many trees are still bare more and more are starting to bloom.

I took a lot of shots on a stormy day when the sky was ominous.

Shortly before sunset some blue broke through.

I enjoy dramatic skies.

There is something very sci-fi about these shots to me.

I had trouble deciding which to use so I'm using quite a few.

For part of another day we had soft blue in the sky.

We had one day with some pretty sunset colors.

North east of the sunset the trees were shaded rust.

I always look on the opposite side of where the sun is setting because the light on the trees is often pretty.

The last shot is on the part of the sky where the sun was going down, or rather already had set.

ABC Wednesday: L is for Lantana

I looked through my summer shots for lantana since they don't bloom here until late June or July.

Lantana attracts lovers that let loose their wings and engage in a lovely dance. I have photographed butterflies climbing on each other but didn't look too hard for those shots as they as they make me seem like a little too much of a voyeur.
