SkyWatch Friday: Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell

Going through the sky shots I took over the past 7 days made me think of the Joni Mitchell song: Both Sides Now. Therefore, I'm using her lyrics to accompany this post.

Rows and floes of angel hair  And ice cream castles in the air
skywatchDSCN9266
And feather canyons everywhere  I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun  They rain and snow on everyone

So many things I would have done  But clouds got in my way
  skywatchDSCN9321
I've looked at clouds from both sides now  From up and down, and still somehow  It's cloud illusions I recall  I really don't know clouds at all
skywatchDSCN9330

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels  The dizzy dancing way you feel  As every fairy tale comes real  I've looked at love that way
skywatchDSCN9410

But now it's just another show  You leave 'em laughing when you go  And if you care, don't let them know  Don't give yourself away
 skywatchDSCN9474
I've looked at love from both sides now  From give and take, and still somehow  It's love's illusions I recall  I really don't know love at all
  skywatchDSCN9510

Tears and fears and feeling proud  To say "I love you" right out loud
skywatchDSCN9517
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds  I've looked at life that way
skywatchDSCN9595
But now old friends are acting strange  They shake their heads, they say I've changed
skywatchDSCN9604
Well something's lost, but something's gained  In living every day
skywatchDSCN9608
I've looked at life from both sides now  From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall  I really don't know life at all

When I copied the song lyrics into this post (the italic portion) the line spacing was messed up. I've had problems with that before with blogger. Copying from somewhere else and it keeps me from getting the spacing right. I know there's a way to fix it with HTML but I don't have the patience. The weird part is how it only does it with certain text and shots since all the italic lyric lines were copied from the same place.

I absolutely LOVE this post Carver! That's one of my favorite songs ever and your pictures are perfect illustrations. (Have you seen any of those youtubes people post with photos and the song playing? This is better than any I've seen.)

And I'd take out the apology -- none is needed. Typepad does that kind of dopy stuff too and I know it's frustrating and I never know how to fix it.

This is just a wonderful post. It made me happy.
