When I saw in the extended forecast that we might have a hard frost this coming Sunday night, I made sure to photograph the flowers near my office on a lunch break.
I photograph this garden regularly when working in Durham, NC.
I am especially motivated this time of year since some flowers can handle frost but other die out pretty quickly when the season changes.
Since we had a mild summer many flowers that ordinarily turn brown by the end of the summer are still looking fresh but while some roses do well with frost and even light snow, other flowers still blooming here can't handle frost at all.

Lovely flowers! We had a few cold days two weeks ago that killed the last flowers here.

The absolute total joy of digital photography is being able to save the beauty through a cold winter. It seems a little early for it, so I hope you get more chances to walk during your lunch hour and when you're home --- but if you don't you always have these! Lovely.
